Zélia Monteiro Bora – President and Editor JILE
Holds a Licentiate degree in Letters from UFPB – Universidade Federal da Paraíba (1982); M.A. in Letters from UFPB (1988); PhD in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies from Brown University (1998); and post-Doctorate degree from the University of California Berkeley (2006-2007); won a scholarship from AAUW Foundation (2007-2008). Fulbright Visiting Professor at the University of California, Berkeley (2012). Research themes: identity, culture, memory and ecofeminism.
Sueli Meira Liebig – Vice President
Doctor in Comparative Literature by the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2000). She is an Adjunct Professor of the Post-graduation Program of Literature and Intercultural Studies at the Universidade Etadual da Paraíba-(PPGLI/UEPPB) – Brazil . Her interests are in Comparative Literature, with emphasis in Anglo-American Literature, Otherness, Intercultural Studies, Black Studies, and Ecocriticism. She has published the books: Dossiê Black & Branco: Literatura, Racismo e Opressão nos Estados Unidos e no Brasil (2003); Expressões da Alteridade (2007); Raça, Mito e Resistência (2010) and participated in the organization of the anthologies Letras: Linguagens em Ação (2007); Textos & Textos: Diálogos em Literatura Comparada (2008) ; Estudos Literários em Perspectiva (2008); Estudos de Língua Estrangeira: Práticas Sociais e Culturais (2011) and Estudos em Literatura Comparada (2012). She has also been publishing articles and essays in several periodicals in Brazil and abroad.
Suênio Stevenson Tomaz da Silva – Treasurer
Holds a Master degree in Literature and Interculturality (2008) and a Licentiate degree in Letters (with focus on English Language) (2004), both from UEPB. At present he is Assistant Professor at UFCG. He is also a doctorate student from the Post-graduate Program in Literature and Interculturality at UEPB. He has experience in Letters, with focus on English Language and English Language Literature.
Evely Vânia Libanori – Executive Committee
Professor in the Department of Linguistic and Literary Theories at UEM – Universidade Estadual de Maringá since 1997. Holds a Phd and M.A. from UNESP/Assis. She teaches Brazilian Literature – Narrative, and Practices in Literary Education at undergraduate courses; at graduate courses she works with Latin-American novels and theoretical referential of Existentialism, Ecocriticism, human and animal Identity, Animal Ethics. She is at the head of GAIA (Group of Interdisciplinary Activities about animals), which is a research group registered at CNPq that studies animal liberation, animal ethics, veganism. She is Associate Coordinator of the post-graduation Program in Letters (PLE) since September, 2014, and orients researches in undergraduate and post-graduate courses, related to the following fields of study: Identity Representation in Literature, Animal Ethics, Animal Representation in Literature, Clarice Lispector, Existencialism. In May, 2014, she published the book “Nós, Animais”, a collection of animalist abolitionist chronicles.
Ivana Alencar Peixoto Lianza da Franca – Secretary
Holds a Licentiate degree in Letters from UFPB – Universidade Federal da Paraíba (1988); Specialization in English Language and Anglo-American Literature from UFPB (1991); M.A. in Letters from UFPB (2000); and PhD in Literature and Culture from UFPB (2016). At present she teaches English for Specific Purposes at IFPB – Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia da Paraíba. She has experience in the area of Letters, with focus on English for Specific Purposes and textual genres.
Simão Farias Almeida – Web Editor
Holds an undergraduation degree in Letters (2000) and in Social Communication – Journalism (2001); M.A. in Letters (2003) and PhD in Letters – Literature and culture (2012) from UFPB – Universidade Federal da Paraíba. At present he is Associate Professor of the course of Journalism at UFRR – Universidade Federal de Roraima, and develops activities in teaching, research and extension about comparative practices in communication (journalism, television, cinema), and literature. He is at the head of the research group ”Media and Environment: Amazonian perspectives”. He wrote books on literary, journalistic and cinematographic criticism, academic articles, short stories, poems and movie scripts.
Adaylson Wagner Sousa de Vasconcelos – Postgraduate Student Representative
Lawyer registered with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/PB). At present he is a substitute professor of the course of Letters – Portuguese, at Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB), Campus IV, Mamanguape. He is a member of the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment/Brasil (ASLE/Brasil). Doctoral student in Letters from the Post-graduation Program in Letters (PPGL) of Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB). Holds a scholarship from CAPES – Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoas de Nível Superior. Holds a Master degree in Letters from UFPB (2015). Specialist in Constitutional Civil Law from UFPB (2016). Specialist in Human Rights from UFCG (12015). Holds a Licentiate degree in Letters (with focus on Portuguese) from UFPB (2013). Holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Centro Universitário João Pessoa (UNIPÊ) (2012). Member of the Editorial Board of LEXMAX Magazine from Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/PB).
Siddharth Singh Monteiro Bora – Postgraduate Student Representative
Holds a law degree from Centro Universitário de João Pessoa – UNIPÊ (2007). Specialist in Criminal Sciences from Centro Universitário de João Pessoa (2008) and from Fundação Escola Superior do Ministério Público (FESMIP) (2009). He is also specialist in Constitutional Law from Escola Superior de Direito Constitucional, ESDC, Brasil (2009) and has developed academic works in the following areas: Criminal Law, Humans Rights, Criminal Sciences and Criminology. Academic Coordinator of Casa de Cultura AIO(PB) (2013-2014). At present he is a member of the association Forum de Proteção Estadual de Defesa dos Animais (State Forum on Animal Protection and Defense). He is also a member of the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment/Brasil (ASLE/Brasil). He is a master student in Criminology from Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales y Sociales (UCES).
